Coverage and networks

This combo eSIM covers three countries with a single eSIM: Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. In Singapore you connect to Singtel or M1, in Malaysia to Maxis, CelcomDigi or U Mobile, and in Thailand to TrueMove H or DTAC, two networks that have belonged to True Corporation since their 2023 merger. That makes it practical for the classic route from Singapore via Kuala Lumpur and Penang to Bangkok, Phuket or Koh Samui. In cities and tourist areas you can usually expect 4G and, where the local network and your phone support it, 5G. In the jungle of Sabah and Sarawak on Borneo, on small islands and in remote mountain areas the signal can get weaker, just as it would with a local SIM. Networks: Singtel, M1, Maxis, CelcomDigi, U Mobile, TrueMove H, DTAC.

For a two to three week trip through all three countries, 10 GB covers maps, Grab and WhatsApp, while 20 GB gives room for sharing lots of photos, video calls or streaming. The 1 GB plan for 7 days is mainly meant for a short stopover, such as a few days in Singapore.

None of the three countries is in the EU, so EU roam-like-at-home rules do not apply and data on your home plan is usually charged separately. With this eSIM you stay online when you cross a border, without buying a new SIM.

Frequently asked questions

Does an eSIM work in Singapore & Malaysia & Thailand?

Yes. Our eSIM gives you instant mobile data in Singapore & Malaysia & Thailand on the local networks, with no roaming fees. Your phone needs to support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked.

How much data do I need for Singapore & Malaysia & Thailand?

It depends on your trip. For mostly maps and messaging, 1 to 3 GB is plenty. If you use navigation, social media and some streaming, plan for roughly 1 GB every two to three days.

How fast do I get my eSIM?

Right after payment. You receive a QR code on screen and by email immediately. It is best to install it at home over Wi-Fi before you leave.

Do I keep my own phone number?

Yes. Your own SIM stays in your phone for calls and texts. The eSIM runs alongside it, purely for mobile data in Singapore & Malaysia & Thailand.

What is the cheapest eSIM for Singapore & Malaysia & Thailand?

The cheapest eSIM for Singapore & Malaysia & Thailand at esimzu starts from €2,49, with a lowest-price guarantee. You pay in euros by Bancontact, card or crypto and receive the eSIM instantly by QR code, with no app or physical SIM card.

Does one eSIM really work in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand?

Yes. You install the eSIM once, ideally before you leave home, and it connects automatically to a local network in each of the three countries. Your data simply keeps counting down from the same allowance, whether you travel between countries by bus, train or plane. Other countries in the region, such as Indonesia, Brunei, Vietnam and Cambodia, are not included in this bundle.

What happens at the border between Singapore and Malaysia?

Near the border, for example on the crossing to Johor Bahru, your phone sometimes picks up a network from the neighbouring country, including in the north of Singapore. With this combo eSIM that does not matter, because Singapore and Malaysia are both included in your bundle. The same goes for the border between Malaysia and southern Thailand.

Which network do I use in Thailand, and is there coverage on the islands?

In Thailand the eSIM connects to TrueMove H or DTAC, which have both been part of True Corporation since their 2023 merger. Coverage is generally good in Bangkok, Chiang Mai and on the large islands such as Phuket and Koh Samui. On small, remote islands and during boat trips the signal can weaken or drop out.

Is this combo eSIM better than separate eSIMs per country?

If you visit only one of the three countries, a single-country eSIM is usually the more affordable choice. If you travel through two or three of them, the combo is more practical: one installation, one data bundle and no new eSIM at every border.
