Coverage and networks

Greece has three major operators: Cosmote, Vodafone and Nova. Cosmote has the broadest coverage and reaches around 99 percent of populated areas with 4G, including most islands. In Athens, Thessaloniki and on large islands such as Crete, Rhodes and Corfu, the network is excellent. Smaller or remote islands and mountainous regions can have a weaker signal. Networks: Cosmote, Vodafone, Nova.

Frequently asked questions

Does an eSIM work in Greece?

Yes. Our eSIM gives you instant mobile data in Greece on the local networks, with no roaming fees. Your phone needs to support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked.

How much data do I need for Greece?

It depends on your trip. For mostly maps and messaging, 1 to 3 GB is plenty. If you use navigation, social media and some streaming, plan for roughly 1 GB every two to three days.

How fast do I get my eSIM?

Right after payment. You receive a QR code on screen and by email immediately. It is best to install it at home over Wi-Fi before you leave.

Do I keep my own phone number?

Yes. Your own SIM stays in your phone for calls and texts. The eSIM runs alongside it, purely for mobile data in Greece.
