Greenland's mobile network is run by Tusass, the operator owned by the Greenlandic government and formerly known as TELE Greenland. Our travel eSIM uses its 4G network. You get 4G in the towns, including Nuuk, Ilulissat, Sisimiut, Qaqortoq and Kangerlussuaq, and in most settlements. No roads link the towns and the network is built around inhabited places, so on the ice sheet, in remote fjords and on treks you will often have no signal. Places on the east coast and in the far north, such as Tasiilaq and Qaanaaq, are connected by satellite, so mobile internet there can be slower. Networks: TELE Greenland.
For a week in Nuuk or Ilulissat with maps, messaging and some photo sharing, 3 GB is usually enough. The 1 GB plan suits a short stopover or a cruise call, while 5 to 10 GB gives room for video calls and uploading lots of photos and videos.
Greenland belongs to the Kingdom of Denmark but is not part of the EU, so EU roam-like-at-home does not apply there and roaming on your home plan is charged separately, often at high rates. Install the eSIM before you leave and you are online on the Tusass network as soon as you land.

Yes. Our eSIM gives you instant mobile data in Greenland on the local networks, with no roaming fees. Your phone needs to support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked.
It depends on your trip. For mostly maps and messaging, 1 to 3 GB is plenty. If you use navigation, social media and some streaming, plan for roughly 1 GB every two to three days.
Right after payment. You receive a QR code on screen and by email immediately. It is best to install it at home over Wi-Fi before you leave.
Yes. Your own SIM stays in your phone for calls and texts. The eSIM runs alongside it, purely for mobile data in Greenland.
The cheapest eSIM for Greenland at esimzu starts from €7,99, with a lowest-price guarantee. You pay in euros by Bancontact, card or crypto and receive the eSIM instantly by QR code, with no app or physical SIM card.
No. Greenland is an autonomous territory within the Kingdom of Denmark and left the European Community in 1985, so the EU roaming rules do not cover it, even though Denmark is an EU member. Using your home plan there counts as roaming outside the EU, while an eSIM gives you a fixed data bundle.
Usually not for long. No roads link the towns and the network is built around inhabited places. On the ice sheet, on hiking routes such as the Arctic Circle Trail and in many fjords you will have little or no signal, so download offline maps before you set out.
Yes, whenever the ship is in port or close to a town or settlement, the eSIM connects to the Tusass network. On the open sea there is no land network. Some ships run their own onboard mobile network, which is not part of the eSIM and can be costly on your regular SIM, so switch off data roaming for your home number.
