Monaco has a single mobile operator: Monaco Telecom. The principality covers only about 2 square kilometres, and Monaco Telecom covers the entire territory, with 5G since 2019. Our travel eSIM for Monaco runs on the Monaco Telecom network, so you are on the same network as residents, from Monte-Carlo and Casino Square to the harbour in La Condamine, Monaco-Ville on the Rock, Fontvieille and Larvotto beach. Depending on your plan, you get 4G or 5G speeds. Networks: Monaco Telecom.
For a day trip or a long weekend, 1 GB is usually enough for maps, messaging and sharing photos. If you stay longer, work on the go or share a lot of video, choose 3 to 5 GB for 30 days.
Monaco is not an EU member and does not fall under the EU roaming rules. Whether your home plan works there without extra charges depends on your operator, so check before you travel.

Yes. Our eSIM gives you instant mobile data in Monaco on the local networks, with no roaming fees. Your phone needs to support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked.
It depends on your trip. For mostly maps and messaging, 1 to 3 GB is plenty. If you use navigation, social media and some streaming, plan for roughly 1 GB every two to three days.
Right after payment. You receive a QR code on screen and by email immediately. It is best to install it at home over Wi-Fi before you leave.
Yes. Your own SIM stays in your phone for calls and texts. The eSIM runs alongside it, purely for mobile data in Monaco.

Not automatically. Monaco is not part of the EU or the EEA, so the EU roaming rules do not apply there. Some operators still include Monaco in their EU zone, such as Proximus in Belgium, while others charge roaming or ask you to buy a separate roaming pass. If Monaco is included in your plan, an eSIM mainly helps when your EU data allowance is limited. Otherwise an eSIM tells you in advance how much data you have, independent of your home plan.
In France, an EU home plan works normally under EU roaming. This eSIM only works in Monaco itself, not in France. With a dual SIM phone you stay reachable on your own number and switch mobile data to the eSIM once you are in Monaco. If you stay just across the border, for example in Beausoleil or Cap-d'Ail, your phone may already pick up the Monaco network there. In that case, select a French network manually if you want to stay on your home plan.
Monaco Telecom covers the whole principality with 5G. Whether you use it depends on your plan and your phone: some plans support 5G, others go up to 4G. During big events such as the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix the principality gets very busy, so speeds can drop at peak moments.
