Coverage and networks

This Middle East eSIM covers 11 countries with one eSIM: Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan and Israel, plus Armenia and Azerbaijan in the Caucasus. In each country it connects automatically to a local partner network, such as Turkcell in Turkey, Etisalat (e&) in the UAE, Mobily or Zain in Saudi Arabia and Ooredoo in Qatar. In cities you can expect fast 4G, and 5G where the partner network offers it, such as in the Gulf states and Israel. In Armenia the eSIM runs on 4G. Coverage is thinner in the desert and in remote mountain areas, as with any operator. Networks: Turkcell, Etisalat, Mobily, Zain, Ooredoo, Omantel, Partner, Bakcell.

The 1 GB plan (valid for 7 days) is enough for a stopover or a few days of mainly maps and messaging. For a two to three week trip with navigation, messaging and photo sharing, choose 3 or 5 GB, and if you stream or make many video calls, a single-country eSIM with a larger plan is a better fit.

None of these 11 countries falls under EU roam-like-at-home rules, Turkey included, so a European home plan does not work there as it does within the EU and providers usually charge roaming or sell a travel pass. You install the eSIM before you leave, and every time you land it switches to a network in the new country by itself.

Frequently asked questions

Does an eSIM work in Middle East?

Yes. Our eSIM gives you instant mobile data in Middle East on the local networks, with no roaming fees. Your phone needs to support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked.

How much data do I need for Middle East?

It depends on your trip. For mostly maps and messaging, 1 to 3 GB is plenty. If you use navigation, social media and some streaming, plan for roughly 1 GB every two to three days.

How fast do I get my eSIM?

Right after payment. You receive a QR code on screen and by email immediately. It is best to install it at home over Wi-Fi before you leave.

Do I keep my own phone number?

Yes. Your own SIM stays in your phone for calls and texts. The eSIM runs alongside it, purely for mobile data in Middle East.

What is the cheapest eSIM for Middle East?

The cheapest eSIM for Middle East at esimzu starts from €8,99, with a lowest-price guarantee. You pay in euros by Bancontact, card or crypto and receive the eSIM instantly by QR code, with no app or physical SIM card.

Which countries does the Middle East eSIM cover?

11 countries: Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan, Israel, Armenia and Azerbaijan. Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia are not included. You will find those in our Middle East & North Africa bundle, although that one does not cover Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Can I make WhatsApp calls in Dubai with this eSIM?

On local networks in the UAE, WhatsApp and FaceTime calls are blocked, and internet calls can be restricted in some other Gulf states too. Because a travel eSIM works through roaming, calling through those apps often works in practice, but that is not guaranteed. Messaging, photo sharing and navigation work normally.

What happens when I fly from Istanbul to Dubai or Amman?

Nothing you need to manage. Make sure data roaming is on for the eSIM, switch off airplane mode after landing and it finds a partner network in the new country automatically, usually within a few minutes. Your data comes from one shared allowance for all 11 countries.

Is this bundle cheaper than separate eSIMs per country?

Usually not. A single-country eSIM is often cheaper per GB, even when you combine two or three countries, and it offers larger plans. The Middle East eSIM is about convenience: one installation and one data allowance for the whole journey, handy for a trip with short stops in several countries, such as Jordan and Turkey or Umrah with a stopover in Dubai.
